Zanja Fife & Drum Corps
The Zanja Fife and Drum Corps is a Revolutionary War militia unit, formed in the spring of 1999, as an ancillary unit of the Redlands Fourth of July Band. The corps has grown from just two to over twenty members.
The corps performs at the annual Redlands Forth of July parade and fireworks spectacular, as it has done since its inception. They have also performed at Los Angeles History Day, Sea World San Diego, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, the Hemet Library Dedication, and many musters and reenactments throughout the Inland Empire.
Members of the “A” group have only been playing a few years, and are working on notes and tone, while the “B” group is for the more advanced student whose focus is more on style, musicality, and the performance of flute choir literature.
