SILVER SOUNDS
Silver Sounds Flute Ensembles
Members of the “A” group have only been playing a few years, and are working on notes and tone, while the “B” group is for the more advanced student whose focus is more on style, musicality, and the performance of flute choir literature.
Larger flutes are available to play in rehearsals, giving those who can’t afford to purchase a bass flute or alto flute, the opportunity to play on these instruments.
If you have one of the instruments, this ensemble gives you the unique opportunity to use it to its full potential.

Supporting the purchase and maintenance of instruments, new music, and scholarships
A flute choir consists of more than just C flutes, it includes piccolos, alto flutes, bass flutes, and other sizes of flutes such as the contra-bass, E-flat and G treble flutes.
Silver Sounds has had many opportunities to play at a variety of churches, retirements centers, hospitals, local outdoor markets, sororities and fraternities, Music Teacher’s Association performances, co-concerts with community bands, recitals put on by the director, amusement parks such as Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm, and other small affairs where music is appreciated.
Silver Sound Flute Ensembles is a private organization whose funding comes from its member and the director. All money raised by the group goes into the purchase and maintenance of instruments, new music, and scholarship money for those members who cannot afford the monthly fee.
